On 30 July, Saudi Arabia announced the Kingdom will reopen its doors to tourists and lift the suspension of entry for tourist visa holders, starting from Aug. 1 (Sunday).
Visitors to the Kingdom are required to meet the following conditions for entry without quarantine requirement.
- All visitors arriving in the country with a valid tourism visa must provide evidence of a full course of one the four vaccines currently approved in Saudi Arabia (two doses of the Oxford/Astra Zeneca, Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccines, or a single dose of Johnson and Johnson vaccine). Visitors who have completed two doses of the Sinopharm or Sinovac vaccines will be accepted, if they have received an additional dose of one of the above four vaccines approved in the Kingdom.
- All visitors must register a web portal named “muqeem” ( https://muqeem.sa/#/vaccine-registration/home) to register their vaccination status before departure (available in Arabic and English). In addition, they need to download an official Saudi contact tracking app “tawakkalna.”
- Visitors arriving in Saudi Arabia are also required to provide a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before departure.
In addition, All travelers entering on a previously issued tourism visa will be required to pay an additional fee of SAR 40 at the airport on their arrival to cover insurance for any COVID-19 related medical expenses.

And please note travelers should check the current entry requirements with “Visit Saudi” site, the Saudi Arabian Embassy nearest to them, or the airline which they plan to use, when they plan to travel to the Kingdom.
